SUMMARY

Cells or fields formatted as Month/Year in a Spreadsheet or Database will automatically insert the current year when the second part of the date can be considered a day of the month. For example, if the current year is 1996, and you enter 10/30 into a cell, the date will be displayed as 10/96. This occurs even if you meant October, 1930.

MORE INFORMATION

To ensure the correct year is displayed, remember the following rule:

If the year could also be a day of the month, enter the complete year date. For example, if you want to enter October, 1930 into a cell formatted as Month/Year, enter 10/1930. The date will then be displayed correctly as 10/30.

The valid date range in Works is 1/1/1900 to 6/3/2079. Any date outside this range will be treated as text.
