When you set up a new discounted bond, there is a field for the maturity date. The maturity date is used for reference only and does not update the value of the bond. This article explains how to manually update the value of a discounted bond at maturity.

To manually update the price of a discounted bond, use the appropriate method for your version of Money. These steps can be done at maturity or any time you want to update the value of the bond in your portfolio.

Money 2000 and Later

  1. On the Money navigation bar, click Investing, and then click Portfolio on the Investing navigation bar.
  2. In the left pane, click Update prices, and then click Update Price Manually.
  3. Click the bond that you want to update.
  4. In the Date field, enter the maturity date.
  5. In the Price field, type the new value.
  6. Click Update.

Money 99 and 98

  1. Click Investments on the navigation bar.
  2. In the left pane, click Positions View.

    Click the discounted bond you want to update.
  3. Click Update Price.
  4. Enter the maturity date in the Date field.
  5. Enter the new value in the Price field.
  6. Click Update.

Money 5.0

  1. Click Go To and then click Investment Portfolio.
  2. Click the discounted bond you want to update.
  3. Click Update Price.
  4. Enter the maturity date in the Date field.
  5. Enter the new value in the Price field.
  6. Click Update.
