This article was previously published under Q149059
SYMPTOMS
When you run Setup and select a destination folder for Team Manager, you
may receive the following message:
The specified folder: '<folder location>' is invalid, incomplete,
too long, or write-protected. Enter a full path with a drive
letter; for example, 'C:\APPS.'
CAUSE
The message may occur even if the folder path is a complete, valid
location, and is not write protected. This problem occurs when you specify
a folder location that contains more than 58 characters on a computer that
is running Windows NT 3.51. A similar problem may occur when you specify a
destination folder that has a long path on a computer that is running
Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, type a path that contains fewer than 59
characters.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
