SYMPTOMS

The compiler fails to catch and issue the appropriate FOR4265 warning messsage for an undefined variable (a variable that has not been assigned a value) used as an intrinsic function input argument.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
