BUG: 3D Copy Center Distorts Surface of Converted Objects |

The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSSoftimage 3D Copy Center distorts the surface of a metaclay object converted to polygon metal elements. When you convert a metaclay object to a polygonal object, and then use the Model>Duplicate>CopyCenter.v3 command to copy the center from the original metaclay element to the new polygonal object, the converted polygonal object's surface appears corrupted, and the converted polygonal object previews or renders badly.
STATUSSoftimage has confirmed this to be a bug in the Softimage product listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. NOTE: Softimage Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation.
