BUG: Modelling Relations Can Cause Movement in an Object

Last reviewed: April 19, 1996
Article ID: Q149730
The information in this article applies to:
  • Softimage 3D for IRIX, version 3.0

SYMPTOMS

Extrusion modelling relations can cause exaggerated movement to occur in the generated object.

After you create an extrusion modelling relationship, plot the shape to the generated object, and then cancel, the generated object displays exaggerated movement whenever the generator is moved, however slightly.

CAUSE

This bug may have to do with having reset cancelable operations whereby canceling the outer operation (freeze) does not also cancel the inner one (plot shapes).

RESOLUTION

This behavior does not occur if, in the Freeze Modelling Relation dialog box, you click Okay instead of Cancel.

STATUS

Softimage has confirmed this to be a bug in the Softimage product listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
