BUG: First Frame Rendered in Motion Blur Sequence Not Blurred

Last reviewed: April 19, 1996
Article ID: Q149733
The information in this article applies to:
  • Softimage 3D for IRIX, version 3.0

SYMPTOMS

The first frame in a sequence with motion blur rendered using the mental ray renderer is never blurred, no matter where the frame is in the sequence.

RESOLUTION

To work around this bug:

  • Render sequences with motion blur with the Softimage 3D renderer.

    -or-

  • Render the complete sequence with motion blur from the first frame to the last frame in one shot.

    -or-

  • If you are rendering pieces of the sequence only, proceed as follows:

        - Give the rendered images different names, and overlap the images one
or two frames so that the blur can kick in. Then rename the resulting
frames in order to fit the sequence together.

          -or-

        - Render the images in a different location, and overlap the images one
or two frames. Then put the frames together once everything has been
          rendered.
