Mastering Access: Setup Program Files Always Installed

SYMPTOMS

If you install Mastering Access using the Custom setup option, the program executable files are installed, even if you clear the Mastering Access checkbox. The same problem occurs when you run Setup again to Add/Remove components.

Setup indicates that this component can be removed, but it is not removed when following the on-screen instructions.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Mastering Microsoft Access Programming version 1.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

The Setup Remove All option of works correctly, and will remove all installed components.
