PRB: Read Pictures Browser in Eddie Displays All Image Files

The information in this article applies to:
  • Softimage Eddie for IRIX, version 3.2a

SYMPTOMS

You try to load a single .pic file into any version of Softimage Eddie from your home directory, but when the Read Pictures browser is opened, every image file resident in and under the home directory is displayed. A simple display of the home directory is possible when the Scan Dir button is clicked, but it is very slow to display.

CAUSE

The last time both the Read Pictures browser was accessed and the home directory was selected, you clicked the Database Scan SubDir button. By design, this scans all of the image files in all of the directories including and below the home directory. In addition, these images are written to the default database.

RESOLUTION

Highlight all of the files in the database, and click the Delete From button.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
