SYMPTOMS

When you open Bookshelf '96-'97, you receive the following error message:

Bookshelf Guide will not work with this version of the system software. To use this feature, please upgrade to System 7.1 or later.

CAUSE

Because of an incompatibility between Bookshelf, Apple Guide, and System 7.0, access to the Bookshelf Guide has been disabled.

RESOLUTION

To use the Bookshelf Guide, you need to upgrade your system software to System 7.1 or later.

MORE INFORMATION

Microsoft Bookshelf '96-'97 can be installed on System 7.0, however, you will not have access to the Bookshelf Guide. The Bookshelf Guide requires at least System 7.1. Bookshelf Guide is a help feature used to show you how to perform tasks within the program.
