FP1: FP Needs More Disk Space Than Stated in Documentation/Package |
Q150679
When you check the disk space before and after you install FrontPage,
you may notice that on a hard disk of 512 megabytes (MB) or larger,
FrontPage takes up more than 15 MB of disk space.
NOTE: The FrontPage documentation and packaging indicate that
FrontPage uses only 15 MB of disk space.
This difference in used space is due to the larger cluster sizes on
disks that are greater than 512 MB. Because the smallest amount of
data that can be written on these drives is 16 KB or greater, even the
smallest file will take up at least 16 KB of disk space.
This issue is most noticeable when you install FrontPage to a disk
that uses FAT partitions.
To work around this situation, use the appropriate method for your version of Windows.
