To quickly find Works documents stored on your computer, use one of the following methods.

Works Task Launcher

To quickly find a Works document on your computer:

  1. Start Microsoft Works.
  2. In the Works Task Launcher, click the Existing Documents or History tab.
  3. Click Help me find a document or Find Files or Folders.
  4. In the Named box, type the name of the file you want to find.
  5. In the Look in box, click My Computer, and then click Find Now.

Add the Find Button to the Works Toolbar

NOTE: You cannot customize the toolbar in Works 2000.

To add the Find button to the Works toolbar in Works 4.x:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Customize Toolbar.
  2. Select the File category.
  3. Drag the Find button (folder and binoculars) to your current toolbar.
  4. After the new button appears on the toolbar, click OK.
To use the Find button to find a Works document in Works 4.x:

  1. Click the Find button on the Works toolbar.
  2. In the Named box, type the name of the file you want to find.
  3. In the Look in box, click My Computer, and then click Find Now.
