DDE Link Stops Updating After Closing Another Link

SYMPTOMS

When you run Windows NT and Excel is connecting to a dynamic data exchange (DDE) server from two separate workbooks, when one workbook is closed, the link to the other workbook stops updating.

DDE Spy does not report any messages going from the client to the server or vice versa.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.51. This problem was corrected in the latest Windows NT 3.51 U.S. Service Pack. For information on obtaining the Service Pack, query on the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces):
