SYMPTOMS

When you print a document from Works 4.0, 4.0a, or 4.5 the output may appear as a mirror image.

CAUSE

This can occur if you are using a Windows 3.1 printer driver and have the Collate option selected in Works.

RESOLUTION

There are two ways to work around this problem.

  • Upgrade your printer driver to a Windows 95 printer driver.

    -or-

  • Disable the Collate option. To do this in Works, do the following:

    1. On the File menu, click Print.
    2. In the Copies section of the dialog box, clear the check next to Collate.

MORE INFORMATION

The Microsoft data structure for printer options under Windows 3.1 does not support mirroring. Other developers of printer drivers modified the data structure to add this option; the memory location they used for the Mirroring option is used for Collation in Windows 95.
