TMGR: Invalid Currency Number Error if Values Contain Space

Article ID: 151125

Article Last Modified on 8/17/2005

APPLIES TO

This article was previously published under Q151125

SYMPTOMS

If you use a space for the currency thousands separator and use any other non-space character as the thousands separator for numbers, when entering a value with a space, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
"100 000" is not a valid currency number, or is outside the range for this field.

CAUSE

If the number and currency formats are set differently, Microsoft Team Manager does not know how to interpret the entry.

WORKAROUND

Set the number and currency settings to use the same character for the thousands separator. This may include the space, as long as both are set to use a space. Some country settings are set to use a space for both numbers and currency. In this case it may be necessary to re-enter the space character for both the number and currency thousands separator.
