SYMPTOMS

Deleting Actual Work values for a task does not change the task's status to Not started.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

Microsoft Team Manager allows you to mark any task as In Progress. When a task's status is marked Completed and you remove Actual Work, the status is reset to In Progress. But, there are no circumstances that cause this to be re-evaluated to Not Started. Likewise, when you have no remaining work on a task, Microsoft Team Manager does not change its status to Completed.
