QUALIFIED PLATFORMS
===================
You can use the rasagent package on the following platforms and
operating systems:

Sun Platforms : The Network Storage Agent will run on any SUN
		       Solaris server.

Sun StorEdge : The Network Storage Agent supports the Sun StorEdge T3
Product Support array, the Sun StorEdge A5x00 array,
the Sun StorEdge A3500-FC array, and Sun StorEdge
                       Network FC Switch-8 and Switch-16.

Operating Systems : Solaris 8.U4 or greater. The Network Storage Agent
2.1 will also run on older versions of Solaris
		       (Solaris 7, Solaris 2.6, Solaris 2.5.1), but
		       will not provide SAN monitoring).
** See Features below for non-Solaris operating system
                       support.

Perl : 5.005 or better is mandatory. Use the following URL
to acquire the proper version if necessary.
                       http://www.perl.com/pub/language/info/software.html

If the proper version does in fact already exist,
create a symbolic link of the executable to
                       /usr/bin/perl.

NETWORK STORAGE AGENT FEATURES
==============================
o Collects and reports information about Sun StorEdge A3500-FC arrays,
Sun StorEdge A5x00 arrays, Sun StorEdge T3 arrays, Sun StorEdge A1000
arrays and Sun StorEdge Network FC Switch-8 and Switch-16. Types of
information includes device configuration, device statistics, device state
and availability, device message-log information, and system configuration.

o Creates a model of the device and its components, storing state
information about that device and saving log information.

o If there are existing problems with a storage device when the Network
Storage Agent is installed, all attempts to interpret the condition will
be made and an event will be generated if deemed necessary.

o Incorporates the Sun StorEdge StorTools 3.3 functionality to do
Message Summary, Snapshot and Revision Checking. These utilities,
however, do not include Sun StorEdge Network FC Switch-8 and Switch-16,
or the Sun StorEdge A3500 FC array.

o For Sun StorEdge(TM) T3 and SUN StorEdge(TM) Network FC Switch-8 Switch-16
connected in a non-Solaris environment, the Network Storage Agent must be
installed on a Solaris server and configured to monitor the devices through
the management path. Sun StorEdge(TM) A5x00 and Sun StorEdge(TM) A1000 and
Sun StorEdge(TM) A3500-FC are not supported by the Network Storage Agent
  in a non-Solaris environment.

PRODUCT HINTS
=============
o You must be superuser to use this package.

o You should be familiar with UNIX commands and Sun's disk array
products before attempting to use this product.

o Use "/opt/SUNWrasag" as the package base directory.

o After the package is completely installed, execute the program
"/opt/SUNWrasag/bin/ras_install" to install the RASAgent service
and cron. There are also several links to additional directories
that are created during this execution.

o After installing the Network Storage Agent, set the environment
variables PATH and MANPATH to include the Network Storage Agent
  directories "/opt/SUNWrasag/bin" and "/opt/SUNWrasag/man".

o If Sun StorEdge StorTools 4.1 or better is installed, be sure to
use that package to execute the Snapshot functionality.

o An upgrade of the Network Storage Agent from version 1.1 to 2.x will
require a new discovery of the devices and the Master Configuration
will have to be re-entered. Copy the /opt/SUNWrasag/DATA/rasagent.conf
file to /tmp for reference to previous information after the new
  installation is completed.
DO NOT COPY THIS FILE BACK. USE ONLY AS REFERENCE.

o Use the Review Config function in the Maintenance section to ensure
the Network Storage Agent is ready to run.

o A previously installed instance of a "similar" version of the SUNWrasag
package MUST be removed prior to a new installation or upgrade. This will
NOT cause the loss of previous configuration information. A similar
version would be considered to have the same version number (e.g. 2.x)
  unless otherwise specified.

o To prevent problems with the inetd services starting, typically when NIS
or NIS+ is not being used, edit the nsswitch.conf in the /etc directory.
The entries for hosts and protocols must be reordered to be "files nis".
Also, the /etc/hosts file will require valid entries for each one of the
devices. In reference to Bug ID 4480155.

o A Country field has been added to the Host Configuration information for
version 2.1 of the Network Storage Agent. Consequently, an upgrade from
2.0 to 2.1 will cause the Master Configuration window to open
automatically each time the Admin GUI is entered from the browser.
This will continue until the field is filled in with a proper Country
name or abbreviation, such as UK, England, or USA.

NETWORK STORAGE AGENT VERSION 2.1r3 OPEN BUGS (AS OF 08/01/01)
============================================================================

BUG ID PRIORITY/SEVERITY DESCRIPTION/WORKAROUND
======   =================      ======================

4473615 (P3, Sev3) The Token bug causes the Network Storage Agent to
draw a new Sun StorEdge T3 array in topology when the T3 controller
became disabled. The T3 needs to maintain the information correctly
	in the tokens.

Investigation has revealed that the tokens for the WWNs are changing,
where luxadm is not. luxadm is finding the same values it had
prior to the T3 controller being disabled.

4481882 (P3, Sev5) The Loop Summary in SnapShot details gives erroneous
	information.

4486505 (P3, Sev4) The Network Storage Agent must be added to the PatchPro
database to enable tracking packages and patches for customers.
4481401 (P3, Sev3) SUNWrasq v2.1r1 : Not Jumpstart Complient : postinstall
        requires PERL5

Workaround: These release notes indicate minimal requirements as well
as the URL to download the proper version and/or link the current
instance to /usr/bin/perl. Commit to fix in 2.2.
database to enable tracking packages and patches for customers.
4487053 (P1, Sev3) RASAgent is not killing the luxadm process when it
        timeouts.

==============================================================================
NETWORK STORAGE AGENT VERSION 2.1r3 OPEN REQUESTS FOR ENHANCEMENTS (RFEs)
                            (AS OF 08/01/01)
==============================================================================

4242778	(P1, Sev1) Need a diagnostic and monitoring tool for the field
	to support Photon.

Sun StorEdge StorTools is continually being improved for FRU
isolation. Additionally, Component Manager with a diagnostic
component is under development for the Sun StorEdge A5x00 array
	and other storage components.

4251243	(P1, Sev2) Sun StorEdge StorTools is missing the capability
to perform Read Link Status (RLS).

FC drives support RLS, which provides valuable
information for diagnosing a failing or marginal configuration.

Workaround: Implement RLS for FC drives to help in diagnosing
	the faulty component.

4390519	(P2, Sev3) NSCC may not be associating a Host with its storage.
Do we need to add some mechanism by which we associate the host
with the storage? Do we need to distinguish between direct
	attach and SAN storage?

The current topology of what we receive from Network Storage Agent
is what the Network Storage Agent sees and monitors; the user does
not currently see what is physically attached to what.

Network Storage Agent will have to send some type of connection
association class before NSCC can display this type of topology.

4390902	(P2, Sev2) We should consider enciphering and/or checksumming the
	Network Storage Agent code.

4415814	(P1, Sev5) If the Network Storage Agent could map errors/warnings/
notices (and/or ctd#) from Solaris to the corresponding
errors/warnings/notices in the T3 syslog, it would simplify
the job of the field engineer. The manual procedure requires
knowledge and training and is also susceptible to human error.

Suggested Fix: Roll the functionality into the Network Storage
	Agent's message summary.

4415818	(P1, Sev5) The Network Storage Agent should be capable of, but
currently is not capable of, reporting if the T3 date and time
are in sync with the Host. This capability is important
for correlating error and warning messages.

4454220 (P2, Sev5) The Network Storage Agent should cause change of state
events for firmware upgrades on all Sun StorEdge T3 array components.

4454225 (P2, Sev5) The Network Storage Agent should cause change of state
events for firmware upgrades of Sun StorEdge A5x00 array components.

4454227 (P2, Sev5) The Network Storage Agent should cause change of state
events for firmware upgrades of Sun StorEdge A3500 FC array components.

4454233 (P2, Sev5) The Network Storage Agent should cause change of state
events for firmware upgrades of Sun StorEdge network FC switch-8 and
	switch-16.

4460450	(P2, Sev2) There are dependencies that cause limitations in the
	Network Storage Agent's functionality.
For the Python release, Solaris 8.U4 along with a luxadm patch are
absolutes for being able to run discman to enable topology. Without
topology, the SAN diagnosis abilities of the Network Storage Agent
	are disabled.

4471392 (P2, Sev3) The T3 battery state is not checked during discovery and
is flagged as an event. The T3 battery	state should be flagged
when the Sun StorEdge T3 array is initially discovered.

4471395 (P2, Sev3) The fan state and battery state should be flagged with a
WARNING and show up in the topology as yellow.

4475996	(P1, Sev2) Topology displays other hosts' devices as floaters.
The floating devices are only shown from the Master Configuration
window. This selection was intended for Ichabod, where there is
no likelihood of access to physically-attached storage.

4482122 (P3, Sev5) The Network Storage Agent must be configured to
only monitor certain switch ports and zones.

4482513 (P1, Sev2) The Network Storage Agent Backup event needs to
include RSS files. These files are required in case the system must
	be restored.

=============================================================================
NETWORK STORAGE AGENT VERSION 2.1r3 INTEGRATED BUGS AND RFEs
(RESOLVED, NOT YET CLOSED, as of 08/01/01)
=============================================================================

4424458	(P1, Sev2) Sun StorEdge A3500 FC array instrumentation erroneously
picks up Sun StorEdge A1x00 devices. The Sun StorEdge
A1000 and A3500 FC arrays share the same instrumentation through
RM6 and the Network Storage Agent module does not differentiate
	between them.

Suggested Fix: The devices can be differentiated using the
raidutil command. This bug was found by reviewing the code
and it was corrected. There is no hardware available however
to test the two devices together.

4431635	(P3, Sev1) If an administrator were to create a way for the T3 log
file to roll over and start fresh, the Network Storage Agent will
not detect possible error entries that may have been logged
between executions. The possibility of losing error messages
	is potentially critical.

Suggested Fix: T3Agent.pm is now looking to see if the pointer that is
set to the end of the T3 messages file is larger than the pointer to the
existing end of file. If it is, the Network Storage Agent will search
the T3 messages file to see if there are any messages that may have been
rolled over. The pointer is then set back to zero, where the next run
of rasagent will search the entire T3 messages file for anything new.

4433444	(P2, Sev5) ssd message needs to point to appropriate T3 volume.

4435025 (P3, Sev5) Email does not give enough information to determine
	which device is failing.

The messages in the description are on a threshold boundary, so
they (the messages) will not be reported unless the threshold is
exceeded. However, when the errors do occur, the Network Storage
Agent will look for the WWN and display the device name in human
	form.

4447199	(P2, Sev3) If a Master is made a Slave, rasagent.conf is deleted,
which could cause the NSCC to become out of sync with previous
data. This creates additional work for the user, as all the
initial configuration information has to be entered again.

4449417	(P1, Sev2) In SAN, Health Check incorrectly passes on disconnected
	Sun StorEdge T3 arrays.

4452250	(P1, Sev3) Network Storage Agent does not notify of a failed power
supply in Sun StorEdge A3500-FC arrays. A second power supply
failure could cause the tray to shut down. You can't replace
a power supply, however, if you haven't been notified
	that it has failed.

4452266	(P1, Sev3) Network Storage Agent does not notify of an uninstalled
fan tray in Sun StorEdge A3500-FC arrays.

4453840 (P1, Sev5) Network Storage Agent does not use messages file specified
in the configuration window for auto discover.

4455316 (P1, Sev2) When an ethernet cable is pulled from a Sun StorEdge T3
array, a communication lost event is to be expected. Instead,
	a location changed event occurred.

4455333 (P2, Sev3) The Brocade switch is showing up as a selectable device
category in the configuration windows for each host.

4456951 (P2, Sev3) Would like to have communication lost events for T3
DATA-PATH connections. This would be key information for an initial
	alert to an upcoming problem.

4456952 (P2, Sev2) The SUNWrasag1.1 package sends alert messages for T3 PCU
Notice "Low Hold Time" messages. It is no longer doing this for
versions 2.0 and 2.1. This information is critical for diagnosing
	battery problems.

Fix: The T3Agent.pm has been updated to include looking for these
	messages.

4458747 (P2, Sev1) The mirrored log file for a Sun StorEdge T3 Array
(Purple2) without an IPName, puts the IP Address in the place of the
name within the file with a "2.2" appended to it. The Network
Storage Agent needs to know if this is the way the messages will
stay, so that it can properly discover the device.

	Workarounds:
	1. Get Sun StorEdge T3 array's IP address added to the NIS map.
	2. Edit the nsswitch.conf and add an entry to the host's
/etc/hosts file for the Sun StorEdge T3 array.

4458749 (P2, Sev3) The first line of the message log is not displayed in the
	GUI.

4458754 (P2, Sev3) The IP Address field in the Maintain Devices window of the
Admin GUI does not show the IP Address of the T3 after is is discovered.
It is showing the IP Name instead.

4459661	(P1, Sev2) The NSCC Insert Service cannot process a
CommunicationsLostEvent for a device key that is all lower case
where the DiscoveryEvent was sent with a device key that was all
	UPPER case.

4460190	(P2, Sev2) The discman in the rasagent 2.1a9 package is downlevel from
the diskman version in the StorTools package 4.1a7.

4460202	(P2, Sev2) Install-discman cannot do an upgrade of the libraries for
Python. The check for discman in bin/install-discman is insufficient to
handle a system that is to be upgraded.

4460506 (P2, Sev3) The GUI is timing out when discman does not return within
200 seconds, causing Network Storage Agent to exit prematurely.

4461648 (P1, Sev4) Every five hours, the Network Storage Agent is
receiving lost communication events to T3s.
These communication events may be false and causing unnecessary
	service calls.

The problem is that the T3's date / time may not be in sync and
is therefore throwing off the scrubbing.

4461749 (P2, Sev2) The Network Storage Agent is not finding warning
	entries to the messages.t300 file.

4462188 (P2, Sev3) As a recovery mechanism for StorADE, a Backup Event
is needed to save specific files from the site, and then send the
files back to the NSCC, or save them on a host.

4462906 (P1, Sev3) The Device Discovery function in the Maintenance
section does not correctly discover SAN devices.

4462938 (P1, Sev3) SAN graph topology does not display all devices in
	a SAN.

Selecting SAN -- > Graph to display topology displays hosts,
Sun StorEdge A5x00 arrays, Sun StorEdge Network FC Switch-8 and
Switch-16 devices, and Sun StorEdge T3 arrays; however, the SAN
does not display either of the two T3 arrays that are attached
	to the cascaded switch.

4463356 (P2, Sev3) Entries in the T3 messages file are being missed.

4463444 (P2, Sev3) RASAgent suggests "messages.T3" instead of "messages.t300"

RASAgent has been modified to no longer suggest any T3 Message Log
file in the documentation and has removed the defaults from the config
        screens in the admin gui.

4464156 (P2, Sev2) Data sent to Exodus is truncated. The NSCC is
critically impacted if it receives truncated data from the Network
	Storage Agent.

4465771 (P2, Sev5) When a system boots, the Network Storage Agent should be
able to tell the system has booted from /var/adm/messages entries.

4466893 (P1, Sev5) Copying newer versions of discman to the StorTools
directory will cause incompatibility problems within StorTools.

Workaround: Install StorTools 4.0.1, then install RASAgent 2.1.

4467033 (P2, Sev5) The topology view indicates a disk was removed when
both ports are bypassed. Also, a topology event occurs.

4467287 (P3, Sev3) Need information to user in SAN regarding missing
        devices and stortools

Topology discovery does not occur with each run of the topology agent.
The screen will often show an old topology with red indicators for
problems. It is more useful to keep an old topo with red indicators
then to have everything dissapear. If stortools is running, even a
new discovery may return an old topology.

4467961 (P3, Sev5) The Instrumentation link was pointing to the event log
when the condition was actually in the alert log.

Fix: RFE # 4476431 has been opened to have the hostname displayed
when an Inband Lost Communication Event occurs.

4467964 (P2, Sev5) A disconnected Internet cable did not cause visual
	indicators.

4468483 (P1, Sev5) The Network Storage Agent does not filter syslog on
	WARNING.

4469859 (P2, Sev2) Network Storage Agent's FC check is causing Sun StorEdge
	Stortools switchtest failures.

The FC Check function first checks the SUNWvtsst sunvts.info log for
messages pertaining to the switchtest and whether or not it is currently
executing. A message will be displayed in the Network Storage Agent
Admin GUI FC Check window indicating that it cannot run at this time
with the time-stamp switchtest was started. FC Check can be executed
after the StorTools Switchtest has completed but is dependent on the
frequency setting in the RASAgent configuration file (rasagent.conf).
If the `frequency' setting is 5, the message will be repeated for 5
minutes after switchtest has finished. The frequency setting for
rasagent is determined by the "Frequency" pull-down in the Host
        Configuration window.

4471713 (P2, Sev3) Catalog error messages indicate a Sun StorEdge T3 array,
but shows a wwn for a switch.

The errors are not only indicating the wrong devices (either by name
or by wwn), but are also indicating that the topology should have been
marked with a failure, and therefore executed again the next time
	Network Storage Agent runs.

4472824	(P2, Sev2) T3 ISP2100 messages should be counted and email should
	indicate count.

4474074	(P3, Sev3) Discovery of a T3 should valudate that it really is a T3.

The T3Agent.pm module has been updated to recognize that a WWN was not
returned from the probe. The GUI display will reflect that in bright
red letters. It is up to the administrator to remove it.

The problem mainly stems from the customer using the system log file
(/var/adm/messages) for the T3 log file. The Network Storage Agent
uses the T3 log file to do the auto discovery. If there is a pingable
host name, then the Network Storage Agent will find it.

4474343	(P3, Sev4) The Network Storage Agent is not emailing when the
"Loss of Signal" and "Invalid Transmit Word" counters incremement
	very rapidly.

Fix: This was a problem with the threshold setting. There were
not enough of the "loss of signal" or "invalid TXWds" messages
occurring in the five minute threshold to produce an email
message. The threshold has been increased to 50 minutes.

4476431	(P3, Sev5) The LostCommEvent for the Sun StorEdge A5x00 array
needs to indicate on which host the event occurred.

Fix: The health monitor for the Sun StorEdge A5x00 array has
been modified to get the hostname of the system as soon as the
	LostCommEvent is found.

4477809	(P2, Sev3) The current message about an Agent Communication Lost
Event does not clearly communicate how the ping is failing.
This request is to update the commlostevent message to be more clear.

4478067	(P2, Sev2) Unless concatenated switches are physically connected,
they do not appear in the system topology.

4478561 (P3, Sev4) Running the Network Storage Agent manually should
be the same as when run from cron.

Suggested Fix: When users run the Network Storage Agent manually
from the system menu, they should see a message indicating
that running rasagent manually could cause unpredictable results.

4479706	(P3, Sev4) The Network Storage Agent is currently not sending
t300 MPxIO failover information from /var/adm/messages.

4480870 (P3, Sev5) Under the 'Maintain Hosts' section, the default is
is pointing to the wrong StorTools log file. The default is
/var/opt/SUNWvts/logs, when it should be /var/opt/SUNWvtsst/logs.

Fix: The agent Host.pm has been modified to correct this bug.

4480155	(P2, Sev2) ras_install is failing to restart inetd successfully
and is timing out after six attempts.

Fix: For devices that are not to be included in NIS, then
the nsswitch.conf in the /etc directory needs to have the entries
for hosts and protocols reordered to be "files nis". Also, the
actual hosts file in the /etc directory will require valid entries
for each one of the devices.

4481219 (P3, Sev5) Offline switch port causes state of port to go to
*Unknown* when the port should be *Unavailable.*

Fix: This has been corrected. The switchhealth agent recognizes
the difference between an *empty* status and an *offline* status,
but was interpreting it in reverse.

4481831 (P2, Sev5) Undocumented features (FC Utilities) exist in the
Network Storage Agent. Therefore, the FC Utilities features are
not being tested and may give invalid errors.

Fix: Online help has been updated to include detailed information
	about the FC Utilities functions.

4483067	(P1, Sev2) Get undefined subroutine when running the Network
	Storage Agent SAN module.

4483071 (P2, Sev4) A network problem occurred that would not allow email
to be sent from the lab. At that point, the Network Storage Agent
was attempting to send email every five minutes, but was unable to
(the system would hang). Eventually, so many processes had
accumulated that the cron could not start.

Fix: The Network Storage Agent has been updated to use the
subroutine run_command, which knows what command is being executed
and has built-in timeouts. Now, the process causing the system to
hang will be killed, allowing the Network Storage Agent to continue
	to operate correctly.

4483072 (P2, Sev3) The Network Storage Agent is not screening the
/var/adm/messages file for messages that have disappeared and
reappeared. New messages exist that are associated with fabric,
but the Network Storage Agent is not looking for them.

Fix: The messages file scrubber has been updated to now search
for messages with the appeared/disappeared status associated with
	them.

4483076 (P1, Sev3) The Network Storage Agent is not screening the
/var/adm/messages file and the messages.t300 file for failover
conditions. This is very important for isolation, because with
Sun StorEdge Traffic Manager (MPxIO), the system will seem OK.

Fix: The message scrubbing module has been updated to look for
	the failover pattern.

4483189 (P1, Sev3) The Network Storage Agent is isolating to the wrong
link when the Sun StorEdge Traffic Manager (MPxIO) is enabled.
The correct switch port will now go *red* (see bug #4481214 and
#4481219). This could cause wasted down time.

4483340 (P3, Sev4) The Network Storage Agent claims an OutofBand
Communication Lost event when powered off when it should claim an
	InBand Communication Lost Event.

4483350 (P3, Sev5) Received loss of Communication event; however, the
event is not registered in the instrumentation last event status.
This occurs in non-MPxIO systems when the remote switch is
powered off. This could cause error conditions to be missed.

4484066	(P1, Sev3) During mpxio failover, luxadm returns no value, causing
undefined variable, as opposed to the expected *empty* file.

Fix: util.pm and fc.pm were changed to handle this condition.

4484441	(P3, Sev5) Get error when SANAgent module is run.

4484924 (P3, Sev5) The Network Storage Agent reports the wrong DESTIN
registername when the CRC rule is fired. This could cause the
user to run StorTools on the wrong port.

Fix: The RASAgent was looking at the wrong field in the discman
output. This has been fixed in the 2.1r3 package going to DSQA.

4485205 (P2, Sev2) The Network Storage Agent needs to get the latest
discman to keep better track of stdiscover, and the Network Storage
Agent needs to wait for the timeout period before killing off the
hung processes. discman fixes to stdiscover failures are critical
to keeping the Network Storage Agent from hanging.

Suggested Fix: The libraries, discman, and stdiscover will be
copied from the Sun StorEdge StorTools tree and incorporated into
	the next build.

4485732 (P1, Sev2) dot (.) commands for the Sun StorEdge T3 array are
being used in FC Utilities, but are not supported. The dot commands
are used by the FC Utilities to gather additional counter information
about the T3 loops, backend, and disks for analysis by trained SSEs.

Fix: Since the T3 dot commands are not supported by the T3
development team, the (.) commands will be removed in the next
	release.

4487066 (P4, Sev5) Information field of topology window should show most
        recent event.

4487639 (P2, Sev2) itw errors occur during a system reboot. rasagent should
        check before alerting

4487642 (P3, Sev4) devices found during subnet discovery default to off

Fix: A new field in the Subnet discovery has been added which will
enable the administrator to change the default to ON if so desired.

4487649 (P3, Sev3) data-path for t3's default to "local host" in subnet
        causing commlost events

Fix: A new field in the Subnet discovery has been added which will
enable the administrator to change the default to NONE if so desired.

===========================================================================
NETWORK STORAGE AGENT PROBLEMS THAT ARE RESOLVED AND CLOSED SINCE
                          2.1 RELEASE (JUNE 2001)
============================================================================

4390508	(P2, Sev2) Network Storage Agent does not always send alerts for
Sun StorEdge T3 arrays. An example of this is when the
Network Storage Agent picks up a log entry in
the T3 message log stating that "DC not OK."
	Network Storage Agent sends that message as an alert;
however, the message "DC OK" is never sent.

4412829	(P1, Sev5) The status indicator is displaying change in status in
	reverse order.

4465079 (P1, Sev3) Master host had 3 mail messages this morning that the
	Network Storage Agent dumped.

Fix: The Network Storage Agent 2.0 had some special signal handling
code. This is not deemed necessary in 2.1 and will therefore rely
on the default perl signal handling routines.

4479047	(P2, Sev3) Alert output should compile as much information as
possible into the limited amount of space available.

4481214	(P2, Sev5) Topology and Instrumentation do not show errors
(do not turn the failing condition red) when the switch
	port is offline.

4481219	(P3, Sev5) Offline switch port causes the state of port to go
	to 'Unknown'.

4481939 (P3, Sev5) The Network Storage Agent is missing "Link ONLINE"
messages in the /var/adm/messages file, indicating that the link
has returned to a good status.

Fix: Messages file scrubbing agent has been changed; it will now
look online/offline for links and loops.

4485204 (P2, Sev2) For the Ichabod project, the master instance of
the Network Storage Agent will be on a diagnostic processor, which
will have no physical connections to any storage. Without this
connection, discman will not find any topology. Without the
topology, the remote solution centers will not have any visual
	indication of any problems.

Fix: The Network Storage Agent will now recognize the empty discman
output that is returned and consider it to be an instance of the
Network Storage Agent with no physical connections. If it
recognizes that there are devices being monitored by this same
instance of the Network Storage Agent, it will draw them in the
	topology window.

4485244 (P3, Sev3) The Network Storage Agent needs to monitor Discarded
Frames, Delimiter Errors, and the Address ID Counter. Currently,
the Network Storage Agent monitors only LIP.

Fix: Requested counters are now generate`ing events, fixed in
	release 2.1r3.
