a glyph it displays multiple error messages. 1256155 OCT exits if, whilst configuring the agent(s) for an object, the Apply or OK button is clicked as the browser is started. 4006001 OCT still displays members of a Monitor which have been deleted. 4006725 OCT exits if the if the value of the topoNodeMOSet attribute uses localDistinguishedName format. 1261584 When OCT creates a new object it defaults the 'Propagate Severity' attribute to off. 1251408 OCT exits when launced against multiple Viewer Objects. 1249644 OCT does not allow hex (0x) values for CMIP Presentation Address selectors. 4004848 The Add button next to the name field in OCT is unintuitive. 1258142 AdminOperStatusUp request template does not work if ifindex is greater than 9. 1258342 CorrelatedNotifications is mispelt not automatically clear SNMP linkDown traps. 1262410 SNMP Traps are discarded after trap daemon receives a large trap. 1259447 Error in syntax of RCL function alarmOi in Administration Guide. 1262599 Waiter::get_error_string() always returns 'Success'. 1260506 Syntax for sending events with probableCause is not documented. 1266491 Documentation does not indicate that topology types must be consistent across MIS in a multiple MIS environment. 1265220 In operator mode, application with setuid bit set fails to connect. 1266475 MIS-MIS communication does not support connection to releases of EM prior to EM 2.0. 1260297 AutoManageDecayReachablePing does not work as described in 2.0 Release Notes. 4004718 Viewer Help link from Identifying Network Components is incorrect. 4004740 All Help pop-up windows should have names. 4004720 Description of Discover in the on-line help is incorrect. 4004729 The names for Agent Configuration windows in OCT help are incorrect. 4004819 The Discover and Monitor help pages should be higher up. 1261553 Online help description of the Log Manager Properties window is incorrect. 1262982 The online help indicates an incorrect name for the SNMP Browser. Patch Installation Instructions: -------------------------------- Refer to the Install.info file for instructions on using the generic 'installpatch' and 'backoutpatch' scripts provided with each patch. Any other special or non-generic installation instructions should be described below as special instructions. Special Installation Instructions: ---------------------------------- This patch should be installed using the -u (no file permission checking) option of installpatch as follows: ./installpatch -u . This patch will require 36 MB of disk space to be available in the disk partition holding /var (typically Root or /). Please note that the installpatch script performs significant checking of the target filesystems, which can take a noticeable amount of time. If you do not have this amount of disk space, you may wish to consider installing this patch using the using the -d (No backup of patched files) option of installpatch. The use of the -u option is also required: ./installpatch -d -u . This will save a significant amount of disk space in the root partition. However it must be noted that if this patch is installed in this way it cannot be backed out. This should not be a concern as all future versions of this patch will contain all fixes delivered by this version of the patch. Some of the fixes delivered by this patch require the re-initialisation of the Enterprise Manager system before they take effect. If the fix you require appears not be be working, please use the Enterprise Manager export tools to back up such information as topology, request templates and log records. Once this has been completed then execute the following as the user root: em_services -r Please NOTE that this will destroy the run-time database and CANNOT be undone. Important Notes: -------------- 4008771 Error in procedure for using Optivity 7.0 with EM 2.0. Step 5 of the procedure for setting up Optivity with EM on page 28 of the EM 2.0 Release Notes is incorrect. Step 5 should read: 5. Set the SNMHOME environment variable: setenv SNMHOME /opt/SUNWconn/snm Another step should be added between steps 5 and 6: 5a. Set the SNMDBDIR environment variable: setenv SNMDBDIR /var/opt/SUNWconn/snm Finally $SNMHOME/bin should be added to the PATH. 1259447 Error in syntax of RCL function alarmOi in Administration Guide. Section 14.4, on page 14-6 of the EM 2.0 Administration Guide defines alarm( , | ); This line should read: alarmOi( , | ); 1262599 Waiter::get_error_string() always returns 'Success'. There is an issue with Waiter::get_error_string() which cannot be resolved becuase the changes required affect hi.hh. The workaround is to use get_except()->reason() instead of get_error_string() and get_except()->type() instead of get_error_type() The get_except()->type() returns an ExceptionValue and not a ErrorType as in the case of all other PMI classes. Hence you should only compare it for a null value (for success) and treat all other cases as PMI_ERROR. 1260506 Syntax for sending events with probableCause is not documented. In a Nerve Center Template, and when using alarmOi() to generate nerveCenterAlarms, the probableCause attribute of the alarm can be assigned a value defined in any ASN.1 document of which the MIS has knowledge, such as SUNWconn/etc/asn1/dmi.asn1. In the following example, a nerveCenterAlarm is generated that clears a previous alarm with a probableCause of thresholdCrossed: $info = strToAsn("EM-NC-ASN1.NerveCenterAlarmInfo", "{Attribute-ASN1Module.thresholdCrossed, cleared,\"SNMP is not responding\",3,1}"); alarmOi($save_pollfdn,$info); In a PMI program the probableCause is specified as follows: . For example: Attribute-ASN1Module.thresholdCrossed 1266475 MIS-MIS communication does not support connection to releases of EM prior to EM 2.0. Chapter 7 of the Enterprise Manager Reference Manual should indicate that MIS - MIS Communication should not be setup between EM 2.0 MIS and other MIS which are from a release prior to EM 2.0. 1266491 Documentation does not indicate that topology types must be consistent across MIS in a multiple MIS environment. Chapter 7 of the EM 2.0 Reference Guide should indicate that, for the Viewer to function as expected, all MIS connected via MIS-MIS communication need to understand the topoTypes (Viewer object types) that are known to the remote MIS(s). Thus a common set of topoTypes is required across all MIS participating in MIS-MIS communication. 1265220 In operator mode, application with setuid bit set fails to connect. Section 4.3.2, page 4-15, 'Password Authentication' of the EM 2.0 Application Development Guide, incorrectly states: 'No password is queried if the user is "root" or the application being run is owned by "root" with setuid bit set.' This should read as follows: 'No password is queried if the user is "root".' 1260297 AutoManageDecayReachablePing does not work as describe in 2.0 Release Notes. The Enterprise Manager 2.0 Release Notes, Page 21, Table 5 should indicate that the severity of the alarm generated is not warning, rather it is minor. 1249569 CMIP MPA does not specify an AE-Title when binding to the stack. The following environment variables now define where the CMIP MPA binds to the CMIP Stack: EM_CMIP_MPA_PSEL - The presentation selector (ASCII). EM_CMIP_MPA_SSEL - The session selector (ASCII). EM_CMIP_MPA_TSEL - The transport selector (ASCII). EM_CMIP_MPA_NSAP - The network service access point (Hex), e.g. 0x3730 All four environment variables must be defined, otherwise the CMIP MPA will bind to the default address specified by cmiptool. EM_CMIP_MPA_APNAME - The Application Process Name. The full presentationAddress must be specified before EM_CMIP_MPA_APNAME can specified. The format for EM_CMIP_MPA_APNAME is as follows: ap_title:eq_qualifier:ap_invoke_id:ae_invoke_id where: ap_title is the Appliciation Process title. It is an Object Identifier. e.g. 1.2.3.4.5 ae_qualifier is the Application Entity Qualifier. It is an integer. e.g. 1 ap_invoke_id is the Application Process Invocation Identifier. It is an integer e.g. 10 ae_invoke_id is the Application Entity Invocation Identifier. It is an integer e.g. 20 The following are valid examples: AP Title+AE Qualifier 1.2.3.4.5:1 AP Title+AE Qualifier+AP InvokeId 1.2.3.4.5:1:10 AP Title+AE Qualifier+AP InvokeId+AE InvokeId 1.2.3.4.5:1:10:20 1265375 CMIP MPA association retry time is too long. The following environment variables now define the length of time that the CMIP MPA will wait before trying to re-establish an association that for which an ACSE Abort indication was received, and that association carried outbound requests to the CMIP Agent. EM_CMIP_MPA_ASSOC_RETRY_DELAY - The delay in seconds between a retries to re-establish the association. EM_CMIP_MPA_ASSOC_MAX_RETRIES - The total number of retries that the CMIP MPA should attempt. 1239098 Object Editor assumes that CMIP Agents support actualClass. The Object Editor now allows a user to specify that actualClass should not be used when accessing a single CMIP Agent. To do this open the File->Properties dialog, and for the Default Node field enter the distinguishedName of the top level object instance in the CMIP Agent followed by the characters :OC: followed by the objectClass. For example if the distinguishedName of the level object is /networkId=pString:"Agent1", which will be identical to that previously entered using em_cmipconfig, and the objectClass is network, the following would be entered: /networkId=pString:"Agent1":OC:network Clicking the OK button will cause the Object Editor to use the real objectClass for all subsequent requests to this CMIP Agent. If the Default Node is subsequently changed the Object Editor will revert to using actualClass. 4022227 Alarm Manager does not display alarms when started from the Log Manager. For this fix to take effect you must remove any .em_logmgr_tp.cf configuration file present in your HOME directory.
