Session Management Agent

Session Management Agent

The Session Management Agent (SMA) manages the SCI
private interconnect. It controls the assignment of SCI node-ids,
IP addresses etc (using sm_config(1M)).

On system bootup, SMA will establish sessions between the various
hosts using the SCI adapters. SMA supports clusters consisting of
upto 4 nodes.

When Sun Cluster SC is running, SMA will also
manage the highly-available logical network. If one of the links fails,
SMA will automatically reconfigure the networking drivers to use the
surviving link for all traffic.
