After login the black letterDare splitted and magenta, so that you can't read the text. Is this aEknown bug of this graphic adapter? Is there any solution out (reboot,Frestart of DECWindows Motif)? Is there any patch out, or is it a hard-(ware error (adapter should be replaced)?TIA and regards Rudolf Wingert------------------------------%Date: Tue, 19 Dec 2000 13:38:19 -0300)From: fabio_compaq@ep-bc.petrobras.com.brSubject: Vax on a chipLMessage-ID: <OF29CA98B9.1AB2CDC0-ON032569BA.005B34B3@ep-bc.petrobras.com.br>PeopleJForgive me if I am wrong... if is possible to have a CHARON-VAX emulator,	why not a2PCI card with a chip to emulate a VAX / MicroVAX ?<I thing the Amiga people used to have an idea like this ....RegardsFC------------------------------+Date: Tue, 19 Dec 2000 17:01:56 +0000 ( )3From: Christopher Smith <chriss@Mufasa.pubserv.com>Subject: Re: Vax on a chipJMessage-ID: <Pine.LNX.4.05.10012191658380.21680-100000@Mufasa.pubserv.com>>On Tue, 19 Dec 2000 fabio_compaq@ep-bc.petrobras.com.br wrote:L> Forgive me if I am wrong... if is possible to have a CHARON-VAX emulator,> why not a4> PCI card with a chip to emulate a VAX / MicroVAX ?GWell, it would probably require more than just that chip, but that's anHinteresting idea -- I believe the cpus on at least some of the old vaxenIare socketed, so you could just have a card that would address a real VAX4cpu of some type and leave the user to dig one up ;)3Still, I think it would be prohibitively expensive.IAside from wow factor, what do you hope to accomplish, though, by puttinga VAX on a card?Regards,ChrisO===============================================================================@"My two cents" (http://rootworks.com/twocentsworth.cgi?128562)=Christopher Smith(chriss@pubserv.com) Prgramer^W ProgrammerPrime Synergy of Champaign, IL.%-------------------------------------I"Where a calculator on the ENIAC is equipped with 18,000 vacuum tubes andHweighs 30 tons, computers in the future may have only 1,000 vacuum tubes;and weigh only 1.5 tons." -- Popular Mechanics, March 1949 O-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------End of INFO-VAX 2000.707************************
