The problem 3 is that DECnet IV forces the password to uppercase. 

This almost always results in a shadow6 set merge. The hardware configurations are as follows:  K 1. One 6430 using two DSSI buses each connected to an HSD05 containing RZ29 , drives. I'm shadowing across the DSSI buses.  I 2. One 4300 using two DSSI buses each connected to three RF35 drives. I'm   shadowing across the DSSI buses.  J 3. One 3800 using one DSSI bus connected to one HSD05 containing four RZ292 drives. I'm shadowing between drives in the HSD05.  L These machines worked fine under OpenVMS 6.2. Does anyone have any idea what is going on here?   

There are 3 vaxstations (and arC bunch of PCs) on this cable, and none of the other VMS machines are-	 reporting-G any errors.  (I wouldn't know how to ask the PCs if they are happy, andg$ quite frankly, I don't give a damn.)  C The decnet-plus documents seem to be missing a description of this mE counter.  Can anyone tell me what it means.  What widget is likely to-+ be broken?  Cable problem? Once you start getting the dreaded "page file is gettingL fragmented" message, if you try to delete a swapped process first, you run aI high risk of freezing the system. UsingoL ANAL/SYS (SDA) and performing a SHOW PROC/CHANN on the process can also have( the same affect after a couple of tries.  A It is also good to use ANAL/SYS to check if the processes has anyhK outstanding I/O to a device. Stopping the process while waiting on I/O on alK disk or tape, or on an AST can leave you with a process in a bad state suchtG as RWAST and then you can have great difficulty completely removing it.-  L There are system services available to request a process to perform a forcedJ exit, thus allowing the process to perform a clean rundown.
