Other versions are supported on the basis of "best effort". So for G instance if a big problem would turn up in a V7.1 environment, and this M problem is corrected in V7.2-1, Compaq may reply by requesting you to upgrade K to the fully supported V7.2-1, and declining to build a patch for V7.1.
