The GETSYI method doesn't fit the needs of the6 new mechanism, and the new systems don't support it.    F Newer systems use a different (undocumented) system service to get theH environmental information.  The information obtained via the new serviceB is available via the WBEM / Insite Manager thing.  That's the only1 supported way to get the temperatures via the OS.   F I believe you can set jumpers so that the BMC interface comes out to aI different port than the SRM console, and I think there's a BMC command to G show environmental info. Product installation inherently requires privileges, and I O think *many* kits assume they are there.  The old vmsinstal complained when not K running from the system account.  Don't know if product install does or not / because I've never run it from another account.   N If you *must* run from other accounts, they should have the same privileges as6 system.  Hello Tom,  E well there is gv (Ghostview), which was actually mostly developed on  5 OpenVMS.
