Therte is only theNlogical that defines who the non-delivery notification is sent from TCPIP$SMTP5by default, but most sites define it as "Postmaster".LDoing what you ask would be against nettiquette when the expectation is thatHthe receiving SMTP server has a responsibility to notify the sender if amessage is undeliverable.JHowever, you can specify error message text to be send to the sending SMTPKserver when a message is refused during the receiving SMTP transaction (eg:spam rejections).IHowever, VMS username resolution/verification is done separately once the?received message has been queued and processed by the symbiont.------------------------------ Date: 10 Mar 2004 21:27:30 -0800"From: mikevac@optonline.com (Mike) Subject: Re: Toys R Us and VMS ?<Message-ID: <e85555fb.0403102127.78773c3@posting.google.com>[JF Mezei <jfmezei.spamnot@istop.com> wrote in message news:<404D3721.84409EC4@istop.com>...N> HP is currently airing ads about how Toys R Us is using HP technology to run3> the inventory control for its Times Square store.> .> I seem to recall Toys R Us being a VMS user.> N> Does anyone know if Toys R us was in fact a big VMS user ? Each store in theEUS had two VMS systems connected to the registers, each warehouse hadCat least one VMS system, and their data centers used VMS and UnisysDsystems to manage inventory and distribution. There were some 2,000CVMS systems installed in the States at that time. Internationally,BToys used AS400s and IBM System 38s but I didn't get involved much#with that aspect of their business.FThere was an effort to move away from VMS and on to NT Servers in 1997Abut I believe it was not successful. They were also using DEC'sDversion of Unix (OSF) in a few applications. I doubt that they havemoved completely off of VMS.Mike------------------------------End of INFO-VAX 2004.140************************
