I use it on all the systems I use, which includes A VMS, Windows (cygwin and non-cygwin versions work great), several ? flavors of Unix/Linux.  It provides multiple windows, unlimited E UNDO and syntax coloring (on some platforms, I don't think this works  on: VMS or at least I've never tried to get it working there).  C It builds like a dream on anything and only requires the executable E to run.  You can also drop the help file where you put the executable E if you want the command reference.  Syntax coloring/highlighting is a G bit more setup, on those platforms that support that, but it's not very 8 much work.  The help file has everything you need there.  < Unlike standard vi, it also has keyboard macros, a feature I find indispensible.   * VILE is under constant development. But when I let it do K its thing a year ago, there was a problem and it failed to change the time, - so I had to do it the old fashioned way using I sys$examples:daylight_savings.com. Supposedly this has been fixed, either J via a patch, or in 7.3-2.. With my new job, I'm back at 7.1 for productionI and using the command procedure to run batch jobs at 2am tomorrow. But my L test system is at 7.3-2 and hopefully it will work right there.
