I was at the DECUS Muenchen meetingH and did not read any mail before. You write to the disk. If you will seeC 10MB/s, then this I/O performance is very good. I did measure write E performance with a lot of different disks and controllers and did see E only 3. - 4. MB/s. If you would like to see more, you must enable the G onboard cache of disk. Be aware!!!! If you must know, that the data are E on disk during power fail, then this is the wrong way to speed up the E performance of write. If you could life with this security leak, then F you can enable the write cache since OpenVMS 8.2 with DCL. Before thisG version, you have to use the RZDISK utility, which is stored (if I know ) right) within the SYS$EXAMPLES directory.    Best regards R. Do the RRD46's work on the older DEC boxes?  If so,O and upgrading from an RRD43 to an RRD46 is an option, I still have a few RRD46s P in my warehouse, gleaned from a lot of DEC gear that Compaq sold off a few yearsF ago.  At this point, I don't need tons of money to part with them.  IfM interested, contact me off-line.  Shipping costs may be important, and I'm in * the U.S... The problem I *do* have is that I can't read the CD-R on theD other drive that wrote it! (Well, on occasion I've gotten high errorG counts but I attributed that to scratching of the CD-R's when they were E stacked on the pole.
