GThe code is "packed" at build time. Even though not "packing" it wouldGprobably not cause a performance problem, the thinking through the agesGwas to make it hard for people to customize (mess up) their flag pages.=> I'd like to see DCPS create a dictionary containing any/all?> information about that job, including any parameters suppliedF> (possibly user defined paramenters as well, the note etc etc). Would it be helpfulin debugging problems?@I can see how they could be useful, but DCPS already has so manyElogical names, and adding "read-only" logical names might make thingsGmore confusing, especially since the product name can be specified with-the DCPS$queuename_PRODUCT_NAME logical name.Paul-- Paul Anderson OpenVMS Engineering Hewlett-Packard Company------------------------------#Date: Mon, 01 Aug 2005 20:00:22 GMT*From: Paul Anderson <paul.anderson@hp.com>9Subject: Re: Creating Custom Printer Banner Page in DCPS?5Message-ID: <010820051544499155%paul.anderson@hp.com>6In article <FEtHe.6$c45.0@fe05.lga>, Christopher Story,<ke6rwj@spam-eater-remove-me-msn.com> wrote:J> Is there any method to manipulate the sections below. or is this in the> symbiont only?> > (TAZ::AAGAARD) username> (JOB 39) jobid> (DCPS$IVP_POST) name'> (Hewlett-Packard Company) companyname#> (OpenVMS Alpha V7.3-2 ) systemid> (DCPS F2.5) symbiontidDI wouldn't think you'd really want to modify most of these, with the@exception of "companyname". But it drastically cut back on Gits trade show presence, the sources said. HP leased 7,000 square feet Iof floor space at HP World 2004 but was taking only 900 square feet this year, they said.CHP also told Interex that it intended to cut back on the number of Etechnical sessions it supported at HP World. In the past, HP workers Ftypically handled about half of the conference's 400 sessions. But HP Hinitially said it would do only 20 sessions this year, according to the @sources. It later raised that figure, but only to 38, they said.CDavid Parsons, HP's vice president of enterprise marketing for the DAmericas region, confirmed the details about this year's plans. But CParsons said there were good reasons for the changes. About 700 HP Femployees attended HP World 2004, and the company used the conference Dfor technical training of its workers as well as users and business Hpartners. This year, HP wanted to provide the training at its own event.BHP didn't intend to hurt Interex, Parsons said. He added that the Hcompany laid out its HP World support plans last year and that the user ;group "made a business decision" to pursue its own course."(And in an editorial, ComputerWorld said,Uhttp://www.computerworld.com/managementtopics/management/story/0,10801,103400,00.htmlH"Why would Interex place an ad to attract registrations to HP World one Cweek, only to cancel the show the next? But I do know that this is a Iglaring indication of some pretty shoddy management, and you can't blame FHP for that. Many people will slam HP for killing HP World -- and, by Gextension, Interex, since the event was the main source of the group's Frevenue -- by starting its own user conference and convincing the two 3other top independent HP user groups to support it.GBut no one can argue that it was HP that pulled the rug out from under IInterex's members last week. The Interex leadership did that itself. And there's no excuse for it.GInterex had plenty of time to determine whether holding HP World was a Hviable proposition at all, let alone one month before the HP Technology DForum.
