How to rectify thisF> problem , without changing code in almost in every place around 7000-> places.. Is there any way to rectify this?.BNot really, the original code was wrong, and the compiler was not Hdiagnosing the problem. It also appears to be a common coding error in older C programs.FSome of the editors allow you to write macro programs in them so that Hyou can use those macros to automatically make many similar corrections.DArrays are passed by address on C. When you explicitly add an & to Ethem, you are passing the address of the array variable instead of a "pointer to the start of the array.GSo you are trying to pass a pointer to a pointer to an array where you ;have told the compiler only passing a pointer to the array.DIn the case of an array declared the way that you have done the two Fabove, both values end up the same even though the types do not match.FIn other cases though, if you are working with pointer variables, the Aresulting value is totally different, and will likely cause data Gcorruption, as instead of passing the intended array, the usual result (is passing a pointer to the local stack. > I used Compaq C v6.5 compiler.7> Suggestion will be appriciable at this great moment!!HI would recommend that you use the /WARN=ENABLE=(LEVEL4, QUESTCODE) and Hfirst fix all of the warning messages, and then work on removing all of Fthe informational messages. There may be some informational messages Ithat you can not remove and those can be suppressed with #pragma message disable xxxxxx in the code.IAlso start looking at where you can add the "const" modifier to function declarations and prototypes.IThis enables the compiler to better optimize the modules that call those Hroutines, and such optimizations can be very important to I64 and Alpha -programs. It may also detect some more bugs.DIn addition, any variables that are initialized at compile time and Hnever changed by the program should get a "const" modifier for the same reasons.APointer variables that always point to constant data that is not 'modified should also get this modifier.-Johnwb8tyw@qsl.networkPersonal Opinion Only------------------------------#Date: Tue, 22 Mar 2005 16:32:58 GMT5From: "Ed Vogel" <edward.vogel_stop_the_spam.@hp.com>@Subject: Re: Need help to port VAX code to Alpha and to Itaninum1Message-ID: <_MX%d.2055$KK7.498@news.cpqcorp.net>:"Laksh" <lakshmanan.panneerselvam@hp.com> wrote in message<news:1111468051.137737.52690@l41g2000cwc.googlegroups.com...

This is probably the more important problem in practice, temporaryHconnectivity problems. If my DNS provider notices that I am gone, then,Gafter a specified timeout, multivax.de points to a special "offline IP"Baddress. Presumably, this will inform senders to try again later.EHowever, for short-term problems, a backup-MX would help. (Actually,Hfor multivax.de there is a backup-MX server, at my DNS provider. What IAwas wondering about was the possibility of using multivax.de as aCbackup-MX server for other dynamic-DNS domains (at another physicalAsite, so they won't be down simultaneously). I was thinking thisCwouldn't work since multivax.de is a CNAME, but it appears to be anAA-record after all. A lookup on the IP address won't resolve to Emultivax.de, but that shouldn't be a problem in itself. Since an IP Iaddress can have more than 1 A-record, what's the reason to use CNAME at all?)------------------------------Date: 22 Mar 2005 06:48:04 GMT2From: "Dave Weatherall" <djw-nothere@nospam.nohow>!Subject: Re: Windows anti-spyware?Message-ID: <DTiotGxQ0bj6-pn2-TuduIEvDd3fm@dave2_os2.home.ours>COn Tue, 22 Mar 2005 00:59:35 UTC, Paul Sture <paul.sture@decus.ch> wrote:> Dave Weatherall wrote:> > <big snip>> :> > The same reason Acrobat reader stays at 5.
