It's no wonder LINUX is taking over, you just go Jover to the RedHat site and you're two links away from down-loading a DVD image. #####JA few years back I approached my superior with an idea to support both HP Iand "OpenVMS engineering" by finally (after 15 years) getting a software Jsupport contract for OpenVMS as well as our layered products. My story is Hsomewhat similar to the original posting by Doug Phillips: I phoned the Msales team designated to support my employer but they didn't know what I was Htalking about AND didn't recognize the publicly published part number I 9provided to them. It took us 2 weeks just to get a price.IUntil Doug's posting I just assumed that my experience was related to HP Kgoing through a post-merger transition but I now realize that FUBAR is the Kstandard mode of operation for HP sales. Many stock brokers were displaced Lby the webification of their business but this changeover was inevitable. I Lnow feel that OpenVMS sales people have been given too many chances to drop 5the ball and it is now time to webify their business.Jp.s. since then, I've discovered a few links that helped to lead me to an *OpenVMS support contract for VAX or Alpha:2http://h71000.www7.hp.com/swcat/us/swprodlibs.html:http://h18000.www1.hp.com/emea/software/uk/swprodlibs.html,http://h30266.www3.hp.com/SPLofferings.shtmlMIntegrity is suspiciously absent from these lists so I'm assuming that those (prices are negotiable with new hardware.4I've never seen prices for layered product licenses.
