I was at home, logged in viaFtelnet (Kermit-95) over a VPN, and noticed from monitor system that itFwas running 100% CPU busy (but not too noticeable for interactive use,Esince it's a dual-processor system, and right now I'm the only personusing it much.)GI don't recall what process was tying up the CPU, but it might not have.been any! (Might have not been in user mode.)GThe next day, when I arrived at the office, I turned on the monitor andHmoved the mouse to trigger the screen-saver password screen, but nothingHhappened (I think I might have gotten an hour-glass.) It occurred to meDat that point it might be the screen saver was wedged in a run loop.FSo I logged in via telnet, and tried to restart DECWindows, and that'swhen it crashed.DSo I'm not sure what the looping process was. However, the process Arunning Mozilla does show as "CUR 000" in the crash dump summary.;But it might have been woken up by the DECWindows shutdown.-- John------------------------------#Date: Sun, 24 Dec 2006 18:43:06 GMT'From: "PL" <peter@byron.digitalvax.com><Subject: Re: Suggestion for a lexical (login mode via TCPIP)3Message-ID: <_Szjh.27355$E02.11305@newsb.telia.net>Hello,LI usually check this by detemine of the process has a terminal or not, by if%f$getjpi("TERMINAL") is blank or not./P.Lj>"JF Mezei" <jfmezei.spamnot@vaxination.ca> skrev i meddelandet1news:d9248$458b5b25$cef8887a$7939@TEKSAVVY.COM...K> One can use F$MODE to find if a process is interactive, batch, network or> other.>I> Not sure of it is the right one to modify or to add another one, but itF> would be useful to be able to get information on whether the user uscomingK> in via FTP, TELNET, etc. In other words , find out which target serviceK> on VMS is being used.
