That's just about it, because nothing else comes up no matter what key I press on the keyboard.LI assume the keyboard is fine because if I start the computer without it, I Ldo not get the DECmate II logo. The floppy drive also appears to be reading Lthe diskettes. (incidentally i learned that they should be inserted up side Kdown). The diskettes may not be booting diskettes, they are probably Files backup or so forth.ISince i cannot do anything without input from the keyboard, i was hoping Lanyone who have experience with this computer could shed some light on this (problem for me. Any help is appreciated.regardsHeadley sappleton ------------------------------ Date: 25 Dec 2006 13:00:37 -0800-From: "Steve Lionel" <steve.lionel@intel.com>+Subject: Re: Need help running a Decmate IIBMessage-ID: <1167080437.310018.300230@42g2000cwt.googlegroups.com>Headley Sappleton wrote:I> I have received this really nice looking Decmate II computer with LK201>> keyboard and vr201 monitor as well as some floppy diskettes./Try alt.sys.pdp8 for help with the DECmate II. Steve------------------------------ Date: 25 Dec 2006 15:06:00 -0800From: dooleys@snowy.net.au+Subject: Re: Need help running a Decmate IIBMessage-ID: <1167087960.798318.110450@48g2000cwx.googlegroups.com>Steve Lionel wrote:> Headley Sappleton wrote:>K> > I have received this really nice looking Decmate II computer with LK201@> > keyboard and vr201 monitor as well as some floppy diskettes.>0> Try alt.sys.pdp8 for help with the DECmate II.> > Stevealso try posting to comp.os.cpmPhil------------------------------ Date: 25 Dec 2006 19:31:58 -0600-From: Kilgallen@SpamCop.net (Larry Kilgallen)2Subject: Re: OpenVMS Weekly Audio Update - Show #13Message-ID: <1MORj0pHioXz@eisner.encompasserve.org>fIn article <1165764733.772345.207360@80g2000cwy.googlegroups.com>, "Ian Miller" <gxys@uk2.net> writes:G> It was deliberately made a format that even Mac users could listen to> :-)CConsidering that http://www.openvms.org/pages.php?page=VPN bills it*as being a "podcast" that seems only fair.------------------------------+Date: Mon, 25 Dec 2006 22:20:32 +0000 (UTC)7From: moroney@world.std.spaamtrap.com (Michael Moroney)=Subject: Re: Relationship between node numbers, alloclass etc(Message-ID: <empirg$3i0$1@pcls6.std.com>0JF Mezei <jfmezei.spamnot@vaxination.ca> writes:>It is well known that the5>SCSSYSTEMID = DECNET AREA*1024 + DECNET NODE NUMBER.B>But the rest seems to be at the discretion of the system manager.I>Is is worth the trouble of trying to synchronise the DECNET node number >with the TCPIP address ?5>(eg: decnet node 1.10, TCPIP would be xx.xx.xx.10 ?)CMakes things appear neater, and makes it easy to find one of these !parameters if you know any other.M>Is it also worth trying to synchronise the ALLOCLASS with a node number for >each node ?FSome system administrators have come up with some fairly complex rulesFregarding assigning alloclasses to nodes and SCSI busses, such as the Dnodes having alloclasses multiples of 10 and SCSI busses having portFalloclasses (node alloclass +1, +2, +3 etc), or node alloclasses beingCa number 1-9 and shared SCSI busses having alloclasses by combiningFthe alloclasses of the nodes it connects to (a disk $13$DKA0: would beJon a SCSI bus shared by nodes 1 and 3, $24$DKA0: on a bus between 2 and 4,A$42$DKA0: on a second bus between nodes 2 and 4, etc.) But with Cfibrechannel, alloclasses 1 (and 2 for tapes) probably shouldn't beused.L>Also, in a cluster, the oldest node is the one to let a booting node in or >not.II don't remember the algorithm, but I don't think it's always the oldest.JIt's irrelevant anyway, all nodes are considered equal (except for votes).4> And it remembers nodes that have left the cluster.0The cluster as a whole remembers former members.L>If I change the SCSYSTEMID on node VELO and then reboot that node, will it #>be allowed back into the cluster ?G>What about if I keep the SCSYSTEMID the same, but change the SCSNODE ?DIf a node has the same SCSYSTEMID as a former member but a different@SCSNODE, it won't be allowed to join.
