Then @ again, the VAXen won't be dealing with traffic that shouldn't be9 hitting their ethernet cards and neither will the Alphas.   G In any system you'll be limited by the slowest bit of the kit so if the G SCSI bus can't keep pace or the CPU can't keep pace then that'll be the  limiting factor no matter what.   G All that said, the little 5 port switch that I bought from Scan.co.uk a E few years ago has been quite nice and has improved my network no end. B It mainly has 100Mb/s devices on it though and they're all at fullC duplex. On Alpha, you can disableK starting graphics by defining a logical in SYSTARTUP_VMS.COM - I believe it I is DECW$IGNORE_WORKSTATION.  This will prevent the starting of the server  even when there are graphics.   J You can start the server itself without the login box etc.  As said above,J there is probably a way in the template files.  However, you will not haveI any authorization information. The MBA saw this as an untapped J resource and then built up enough front-office allies to press the backup D line into daily service. (He'll be long gone when shit hits the fan)  E 4) The roads and bridges all throughout North America are in need of  M inspection and maintenance. I'll bet a week's pay that this will be a factor  = in the overpass collapse in Laval (North of Montreal) Quebec.   M 5) One large Ontario company was just caught (by their employees) cancelling  G a recycling contract. This action was traced to an upper level manager  F trying to meet a budgetary target. The employees were shocked but the K decision maker probably didn't see anything wrong with this. (Why no one bothered to retrofit that fix into V5.4 is F a mystery to me, of course.)
