The NNPL command causes RUNOFF to stop leaving space at the bottom of
each page for page numbers.

If .NPL (number page lower) is specified, 3 lines are reserved at the
bottom of each page for the page number, 2 spacing lines and one for
the page number output. These lines are included in the page size
specification. For example: if page size is 60 and .NPL is engaged, 57
lines will be printed, 2 lines will be skipped and then the page number
will be printed. Specifying .NNM (no number) merely prevents the printing
of the page number, the space is still reserved. NNPL removes the
space allocation for page numbers at the bottom of a page.
