TTLINK (Program) Connect to a remote host over a TTY line. Assumes a circuit has already been established, whether by dedicated wiring, an autodialer, or otherwise. Commands: CONNECT (TO TTY) Switches: /DUPLEX: FULL or HALF. If FULL, remote host echoes; if HALF, local host. /PARITY: NONE, MARK, SPACE, EVEN, or ODD. /LOGFILE: Name of file for logging transcript of remote session. /ESCAPE:n Octal value of an ASCII control character to be used as the escape character. Examples: 1=CTRL-A, 32=CTRL-Z. ESCAPE character arguments are: (blank) - Nothing (null command) C - Close Connection S - Show Status of Connection P - PUSH to new Exec Q - Quit logging R - Resume logging ? - Help ^Y (or whatever the escape character is) - Send escape character itself to the remote host. Anything else causes a beep to sound. Initial defaults for CONNECT are FULL DUPLEX, escape character = CTRL-Y, and PARITY NONE. No initial default for line or logfile. Defaults for subsequent CONNECT commands become whatever was specified in the most recent CONNECT command. STATUS Display current line number, duplex, log file, and escape character. HELP Print this message. EXIT If you continue, previous defaults are preserved. Command line arguments are accepted. CAUTION: Incoming characters can be lost, especially at high speeds. This is feature of the DECSYSTEM-20 front end, which will turn a line off for a few seconds if characters are coming in too fast for it to handle. There should be no problem with outbound characters.
