5 Performance Meter Utility for DECWindows V2.0! (c) 1989 by Robert HellerKThis utility displays performance indicators in a small DECWindows window. BIncluded in the display is CPU busy, processor modes, and disk I/OKstatistics on the system device (SYS$SYSDEVICE) and a "local" disk (definedby the logical PFM$LOCALDISK).Notes on this distribution:=	The original distribution of PERF_METER was installable with<	VMSINSTAL. The distribution does not include the VMSINSTAL@	kits, but does include all of the sources files for PERF_METER.<	The .OBJ was created with VAX C v3. and the .EXE was linked7	under VMS V5.5-2 with DECwindows/Motif V1.1 installed.<	If you are still running DECwindows (no Motif), you'll need0	to relink PERF_METER and rebuild the .UID file.<	Compiled and linked by Hunter Goatley on 15-JAN-1993 07:08.To install:G 1. Define a logical PFM$DATA that points to the PERF_METER.UID file:1	$ define/system/exec pfm$data device:[directory]B 2. Run PERF_METER.EXE from any terminal in a DECwindows[/Motif]* context (with DECW$DISPLAY defined).Customizing:DA file named DECW$PFM.DAT (placed in DECW$USER_DEFAULTS:) is used to9customize the Perf Meter. Three variables are definable: PerfMeter.YPos=xpos PerfMeter.XPos=ypos& PerfMeter.UpdatePeriod=updateperiodL Default values are: xpos = 0, ypos = 95, and updateperiod = 5 (seconds).Release notes:H Differences from version V1.0: Added paging statistics (faults,Gpaging I/O, free page count, modified page count). Minor adjustments inplacements of various widgets.G Differences from version V1.1: Added changes suggested by Mark<Pizzolato - INFO COMM Computer Consulting, Redwood City, Ca,/mark@infopiz.UUCP or uunet!lupine!infopiz!mark:E - Compaction of the Modes Display to save window real estate.H - Respacing of the Counter Titles to allow user specified titles6 (via logical names PFM$DEVICE_n_TITLE)G - Allowed up to 4 User Selected Devices to Monitor, selected byA defining PFM$DEVICE_n_NAME and PFM$DEVICE_n_TITLEI - Smoothed out the Counter Updates to remove the delayed flicker.L And fixed the X graphics contexts to use GXinvert instead of GXcopy,Lto allow display visibity of reverse-background display setups (Suggested by-Christopher Ho <chris%skat.usc.edu@usc.EDU>).5 Contact info: Robert Heller; InterNet: Heller@cs.umass.edu6 BIX: locks.hill.bbs3 FidoNet: 1:321/153.0
