Article 32588 of dec.notes.networking.internet_tools: Title: AT&T Reply Title: (none) RE: .39 >MCI claims that a Nashua number is coming sometime this summer (according to >their web page, they have no NH numbers at all right now.) May I suggest that everybody who is considering AT&T (or any other ISP), first check out whether you have a local POP? The list of cities which have local POPs for AT&T is at their WWW site, at htp://www.att.com/worldnet/wis/access_states.html According to this, there is one in Manchester NH, but not in Nashua. I actually prefer the MCI way of doing this, which lists not only the city but the actual phone number, as well as the list of cities which will be coming on line in the next few months. I just went to http://www.mci.com/resources/forhome/ and clicked on the section called "local telephone number" to get a list by state of all of the cities that offer local POPs, including the phone number. Before I called MCI to order the kit for a friend, I called the phone number they gave to verify that it was a local call attached to a modem. It was, so I went ahead with it. -- Ken Moreau
