Subject: FILESERV@WKU: New FLORIAN, an UNDELETE utility for VMS

The following package has been added to FILESERV@WKUVX1.WKU.EDU and
ftp.spc.edu:

   o FLORIAN

FLORIAN is a *new* UNDELETE utility for OpenVMS Files-11
Structure Level 2 (ODS-2) disks. Unlike the ancient
Fortran/MACRO program, FLORIAN actually works! 8-)
At least as well as any such program can under VMS.

FLORIAN was written by Michael Gsandter <gsa@magwien.gv.at>.
The source language is C, and the program runs under both
OpenVMS VAX and OpenVMS AXP. Thanks, Michi!

Note: any utility that claims to undelete files under VMS
should be used with caution. FLORIAN is no exception---be
sure you read the readme file. To its credit, FLORIAN
depends on ANALYZE/DISK/REPAIR to actually recover the file
after FLORIAN has marked the appropriate blocks as being in
	use.

You can get FLORIAN via anonymous ftp from ftp.spc.edu; you'll need:

        [.MACRO32]UNZIP.EXE or UNZIP.ALPHA_EXE
        [.MACRO32.SAVESETS]FLORIAN.ZIP

To get it via e-mail, send the following commands in the body of a
mail message to FILESERV@WKUVX1.WKU.EDU:

SEND FLORIAN !Comes as 2 60-block files
SEND FILESERV_TOOLS !Needed if you don't have MFTU and UNZIP
