Until it comes time to apply patches (PTFs) or upgrade the operating system.
Then AIX turns into a monster that can soak up hours or days of system
manager time.

One difference is that one vendor notifies customers of security problems, 
usually accompanied by a mandatory update patch.

Has any AIX customer received the same for the 'rlogin' security hole:

    rlogin -l -froot node_name
