This distribution contains a partially completed port of Yoichi Hariguchi's
DHCP client for Linux to OpenVMS systems running Multinet.  The VMS port is
located in the [.VMS] subdirectory, and the original Linux code from which the
VMS port was derived is located in the [.LINUX] subdirectory.  A Linux dhcp
client can be obtained from

The VMS version of dhcpcd has been know to work with Oceanic Cable Time Warner
Road Runner cable modem service in Honolulu, Hawaii.  It may or may not work in
other environments that require a DHCP client.

NOTE: Some cable modem services require a login procedure in addition to DHCP.
Road Runner login procedures vary throughout different regions of the country. 
VMS users can consult with Linux Road Runner users in their area to find out
how to log in to Road Runner.  Usually, the Linux login program is some sort of
C program or Perl script.  A VMS version of Perl can be found at
