1   Introduction

This document describes how to install the CUDB Customer Tools software.

1.1   Document Purpose and Scope

This document offers an installation flow that installs the CUDB Customer Tools software, consisting of several applications called "tools".

The document contains information and instructions for the total installation process. If deviations are required in the tools installation instruction, follow the information stated in the User Guide document of the corresponding tool.

Rev. A This document is based on 1531-CNH 160 6161/10 with the following changes:
  • Section 2: Updated installation requirements.

1.3   Target Groups

This document is intended for software installation technicians. The document assumes the user-level knowledge of Linux.

1.4   Typographic Conventions

Typographic conventions can be found in the following document:

2   Installation Information

The CUDB Customer Tools can be installed on any computer running Linux.

Note:  
Do not install the CUDB Customer Tools on any blade or virtual machine of a CUDB node. Instead, install them on external computers, that are only needed during the installation preparation.

3   Installation Preparation

This section describes the requirements and preparations to perform before installation.

3.1   Prerequisites

Ensure that the following resources are available before installation:

3.3   Tools Delivered

4   Installation

Perform the following steps to install the CUDB Customer Tools software:

  1. Extract the tools in the selected directory with the following command:

    tar -xvf <cudb-customer-tools>.tar

    In the above command, <cudb-customer-tools> is the name of the file downloaded as described in Table 1.

  2. For every tool included in the package, a new .tar file is going to be extracted. Extract every tool as before with the following command:

    tar -xvf <tool>.tar

    In the above command, <tool> is the corresponding tool file name obtained from the previous step.

  3. Once every tool is extracted, refer to the specific tool documentation for further reference.
