Configure Target Type Identifiers

1   Description

This instruction describes how to configure a set of target types for a Managed Element (ME). The value of the targetType attribute can be used by, for example, Target-Based Access Control (TBAC).

2   Procedure

2.1   Add A Target Type Identifier

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Navigate to the UserManagement managed object, for example:

    >dn ManagedElement=1,SystemFunctions=1,SecM=1,UserManagement=1

  2. Enter Config mode:

    (UserManagement=1)>configure

  3. Add a target type identifier in attribute targetType, for example:

    (config-UserManagement=1)>targetType="Stockholm"

  4. Commit the settings:

    (config-UserManagement=1)>commit

  5. Verify the targetType:

    (UserManagement=1)>show targetType

    The following is an example output:

    targetType
       "Stockholm"
       "Uppsala"

2.2   Delete A targetType Identifier

Steps

  1. Navigate to the UserManagement managed object, for example:

    >dn ManagedElement=1,SystemFunctions=1,SecM=1,UserManagement=1

  2. Enter Config mode:

    (UserManagement=1)>configure

  3. Delete an identifier in targetType, for example:

    (config-UserManagement=1)>no targetType="Uppsala"

  4. Commit the settings:

    (config-UserManagement=1)>commit

  5. Verify the targetType:

    (UserManagement=1)>show targetType

    The following is an example output:

    targetType
       "Stockholm"

2.3   Delete All targetType Identifiers

Steps

  1. Navigate to the UserManagement managed object, for example:

    >dn ManagedElement=1,SystemFunctions=1,SecM=1,UserManagement=1

  2. Enter Config mode:

    (UserManagement=1)>configure

  3. Delete all identifiers in targetType, for example:

    (config-UserManagement=1)>no targetType

  4. Commit the settings:

    (config-UserManagement=1)>commit

  5. Verify the targetType:

    (UserManagement=1)>show targetType

    The following is an example output:

    targetType=[]
