1 SAPC VNF Decommissioning Instruction for VMware Introduction

The purpose of this document is to describe how to decommission the SAPC deployed on top of a VMware Cloud Infrastructure.

2 How to Decommission the SAPC in VMware vCenter using vSphere Client

2.1 Prerequisites

  • Access to the VMware vSphere Client.

  • The Virtual Data Center (VDC) and the Cluster server, below this VDC, where the SAPC is deployed are known.

2.2 Procedure

Steps

  1. Select the SAPC vApp under the appropriate cluster server from the Host and Clusters view, right mouse click it and select Power Off item.
  2. Once the SAPC is shut down, right mouse click it and select Delete from Disk item. This option removes all the Virtual Machines (VM) belonging to the vApp from the inventory and deletes its files from the datastore.

3 How to Decommission the SAPC in VMware vCenter using vCloud Director

3.1 Prerequisites

  • Access to the VMware vCloud Director web GUI.

  • The Organization and Virtual Data Center (VDC) within it, where the SAPC is deployed are known.

3.2 Procedure

Steps

  1. Select the SAPC vApp from the list shown in the vApps tab, under the appropriate VDC in your Organization, right mouse click it and select Power Off item.
  2. Once the SAPC is shut down, right mouse click it and select Delete item. This option removes all the Virtual Machines (VM) belonging to the vApp from the inventory (vApps tab in the virtual datacenter used in your organization).
