Reference List

1   Introduction

This document contains information regarding generated events and alarms sent by Ericsson™ Dynamic Activation (EDA).

For explanations of terms and acronyms used in this document, refer to Glossary of Terms and Acronyms, Reference [3].

1.1   Purpose

The purpose of this document is to describe the alarms and generated events sent by Dynamic Activation.

1.2   Target Groups

The target groups for this document are as follows:

1.3   Typographic Conventions

Typographic conventions are described in Library Overview, Reference [4].

1.4   Prerequisites

To use this document fully, users must meet the following prerequisites:

2   System Model

The following figure illustrates the Dynamic Activation system model.

Figure 1   System Model

Note:
All Dynamic Activation servers have the same resource Id.

The resource Ids shown in Figure 1 are part of the alarm that is sent to the OSS system and are used to identify an alarming object (feature, component, service and more).

Resource Ids are, where applicable, appended with a <source_IP>. This in order to identify the source of the alarm. As an example, .1.1.1.1.1.1.192.168.0.1. For information on how to enable or disable an originating source IP, see Originating Source IP in System Administrators Guide for Native Deployment, Reference [1] for Native deployment, or System Administrators Guide for Virtual and Cloud Deployment, Reference [2] for Virtual deployment.

For Dynamic Activation Native, the system model is specified in the file:

/opt/dve-repository/LOTC-CONFIG/esa/PG.xml

For Dynamic Activation Virtual, the system model is specified in the file:

/opt/dve-repository/RHEL-CONFIG/esa/PG.xml

This section gives detailed information regarding the alarms listed in Section 4.

3   Alarm Formats

The alarm format is defined in ERICSSON-SNF-ALARM-MIB.txt. The standard location for this file is /usr/local/esa/mibs/.

An alarm message sent by Dynamic Activation is stateful. This means it is in state "active" when raised and in state "cleared" when canceled. An event message sent by Dynamic Activation is stateless. Both message types alarm and event contain the same data.
