1 Introduction
This document describes how to replenish the Emergency Unlock activation.
The number of Emergency Unlock activations is restricted. By default, Emergency Unlock mode can only be activated twice. Once the two activations have been used, an Emergency Unlock reset key must be ordered from the Ericsson software supply organization. The corresponding key file must then be installed on the Managed Element (ME) to reset the number of Emergency Unlock activations to two.
Carefully read the following information before proceeding.
Follow these instructions when attribute activationsLeft is below 2. Do not leave the ME with activationsLeft equal to zero. Preventively run this instruction when the value is below 2. Omitting to follow these instructions can lead to future service impact on the ME.
1.1 Prerequisites
This section describes the prerequisites, which must be fulfilled before using the procedure.
1.1.1 Conditions
The following conditions must apply:
- A license key file with an emergencyResetKey has been ordered and received from the Ericsson supplier.
- The new license key file is installed.
- An Ericsson Command-Line Interface (ECLI) session in Exec mode is in progress.
2 Procedure
To replenish the Emergency Unlock activation:
- Navigate to the Lm managed object, for example:
>dn ManagedElement=NODE06ST,SystemFunctions=1,Lm=1
- Refresh the license inventory to ensure that the license
changes are applied:
(Lm=1)>refreshLicenseInventory
The system returns true if the operation is successful.
- Verify that the value of counter activationsLeft has been reset:
(Lm=1)>EmergencyUnlock=1
(EmergencyUnlock=1)>show activationsLeft
When counter activationsLeft has been reset, the system returns the following:
activationsLeft=2
- Note:
- The value is back to 2. Alarm License Management, Emergency Unlock Reset Key Required is cleared.
- If the counter has not been reset, order an extra refresh
of the license inventory:
(Lm=1)>refreshLicenseInventory
The system returns true if the operation is successful.
