1 Overview

This instruction concerns alarm handling.

1.1 MRF Announcement Storage Unavailable Alarm Description

The severity of the alarm is Major. The alarm is issued by the MrfInstance MO.

The MRF Announcement Storage Unavailable alarm indicates that the announcement storage is not available. The alarm is ceased when the announcement storage becomes available again.

The possible alarm cause and alarm locations are explained in the table below.

(1) <mount_point> is the path to the announcement storage directory for announcement files.
(2) <uuid> is the identity of the Virtual Machine from which the alarm is issued.

2 Cease the MRF Announcement Storage Unavailable Alarm

  1. See details for the MRF Announcement Storage Unavailable alarm. Check the Additional Text field of the alarm.
  2. Check network connectivity between the vMRF VM indicated by the uuid and the announcement storage server using the ping command.
    Note:
    Refer to the following deployment parameter values in the announcement.conf file located in /etc/announcement_storage/:
    • announcement_storage_server_ip

    • management_net_name

  3. Verify that the directory for announcement files is available in the announcement storage server.
    1. Log in to the announcement storage server and check the availability of the directory corresponding to the deployment parameter announcement_storage_server_path.
    2. If the directory does not exist, create it, otherwise continue with the next step.
  4. Verify that the announcement storage server is configured correctly in the vMRF by checking the following deployment parameters:
    • announcement_storage_server_port

    • announcement_storage_server_username

    • announcement_storage_ssh_private_key

    • announcement_storage_server_fingerprint

    Correct erroneous parameter values so that deployment parameter values match the announcement storage server configuration.
