1 Introduction
This document describes how to configure the Country Code Mapping (CCM) service in the MTAS.
1.1 Prerequisites
It is assumed that the user of this document is familiar with the O&M area, in general.
1.1.1 Licenses
No license is required for the CCM service.
1.1.2 Documents
Before starting any procedure in this document, ensure that the following documents are available:
1.1.3 Conditions
The following condition must apply:
An Ericsson Command-Line Interface (ECLI) session in Exec mode is in progress.
2 Overview
The Country Code Mapping (CCM) function can be used for the following:
- Comparing a pair of Country Calling Code (CCC) or Mobile Country Code (MCC) or both, in free combination to decide if they belong to the same country or not.
- Comparing a Mobile Network Code (MNC) with a supported list of MNCs for MCC to decide if they belong to the partnered and own network or not.
The CCM service is used to, for example, evaluate the barring conditions as roaming, international, and international-exHC, for the mobile subscriber.
2.1 Mapping a CCC to MCC
A CCC always needs to map the corresponding MCC based on the Table 1 before comparison, see Section 3.2 Default Values for MtasComCcmCcc.
The MtasComCcmCcc table contains all the CCCs for the whole world. As the different number of the left-most digits is used for different CCC zones, the table is configured differently for different CCC zones.
| Zone 1 |
Either the left-most digit or the four
left most digits of the CCC can be configured for this zone.
| |
| Zone 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9 | Either the two leftmost digits or the three leftmost digits of the CCC can be configured for these zones. | |
| Zone 7 |
Either the leftmost digit or the two leftmost
digits of the CCC can be configured for this zone.
| |
- Note:
- The longest match is applied when using the table.
2.2 Subfunctions
The subfunctions included in the CCM service are described in this section.
2.2.1 Country Codes Comparison
The subfunction compares two Country Codes in form of either CCC or MCC to decide if they belong to same country.
2.2.2 Mobile Network Codes Comparison
The subfunction compares Mobile Network Code (MNC) with a supported list of MNCs for a given MCC to decide if they belong to the partnered and own network or not.
2.2.3 Unifying of MCC within a Country
The subfunction provides a single MCC of a country where multiple MCCs are used. Then the service uses a single MCC in country code comparison logic. The USA has, for example, the MCCs 310, 311, 312, 313, 314, 315, and 316. They are unified to 310.
2.2.4 Mapping of Destination MCC
The subfunction provides the mapping of destination MCC to another MCC when the current and destination MCCs are different.
2.3 Interaction with Other Services
CCM does not have any interaction with other services.
3 CCM Configuration
The CCM service is controlled by the MtasComCcm MO. An overview of the CCM MO structure is shown in Figure 1.
For configurable MOs and attributes, related to the CCM service, refer to Managed Object Model (MOM).
3.1 Default Values for MtasComCcmMcc
This section lists the default values for the MtasComCcmMcc, see Table 1.

3.3 MtasComCcmMccDestinationMapping
MtasComCcmMccDestinationMapping is a Managed Object Class that maps destination MCC, additional destination country MCC is mapped to another country MCC. The MtasComCcmMccDestinationMapping MO will be created using additional destination Country MCC as key.
The following new attribute will be added in the MtasComCcmMccDestinationMapping MO:
|
Attribute |
Description |
|---|---|
|
mtasComCcmMccDestinationMappingMappedValue |
This attribute specifies another country MCC. |
3.4 MtasComCcmMccMnc
MtasComCcmMccMnc is a Managed Object Class that defines Mobile Network Codes (MNC) for the Mobile Country Code (MCC) of the mobile operator. The MtasComCcmMccMnc MO will be created using Mobile Country Codes (MCC) as key.
The following new attribute will be added in MtasComCcmMccMnc MO:
|
Attribute |
Description |
|---|---|
|
mtasComCcmMccMncHome |
This attribute defines the Mobile Network Code (MNC) of the mobile operator. |
4 Performance Management
Not applicable.
5 Fault Management
The CCM service has no alarms.
