The alarm is raised when the value of a PM measurement crosses an operator-defined threshold.
Measurements are defined by multiple system components. The alarm is a generic alarm. It may be raised for multiple measurement types from multiple components.

Steps
- Is the alarm severity major or critical?
Yes: Continue with the next step.
No: The alarm severity is minor or warning; no further immediate action is needed from this procedure. If the alarm severity level rises, re-enter this procedure.
- Identify fault location from alarm source and alarm additionalText attribute.
- Perform data collection, refer to Data Collection Guideline.
- Consult the next level of maintenance support. Further actions are outside the scope of this instruction.
- Job is completed.
