1 Introduction

This document describes how to delete an inactive software version from the managed element. This operation can be used to save disk space when an inactive software version, which is no longer needed, has not been deleted automatically by the latest software upgrade.

1.1 Prerequisites

This section describes the prerequisites, which must be fulfilled before using the procedure.

1.1.1 Conditions

The following condition must apply:

An Ericsson Command-Line Interface (ECLI) session in Exec mode is in progress.

2 Procedure

To delete an inactive software version:

Navigate to the SwM managed object, for example:
>dn ManagedElement=NODE06ST,SystemFunctions=1,SwM=1

Identify the inactive software version to delete:

(SwM=1)>show -v

The following example output shows that two software versions are present. The software version with revision R7F01 is explicitly indicated as active. The other software version with revision R7E01 is inactive because it is not indicated as active. It is therefore possible to delete R7E01.

Delete the inactive software version, for example:
(SwM=1)>removeSwVersion ManagedElement=NODE06ST,SystemFunctions=1,SwM=1,SwVersionMain=ERIC-COREMW_RUNTIME-CXP9020355_1-R7E01

The system returns output true or false.

Verify that the software version is deleted:

(SwM=1)>show -v

The following is an example output showing the final result. If state=RUNNING, the operation is not yet completed. Result result=FAILURE means that the deletion failed.
