1   Introduction

This document describes how to delete a custom rule.

The administrator can delete custom rules when they are no longer needed by the organization authorization policy.

1.1   Prerequisites

This section describes the prerequisites, which must be fulfilled before using the procedure.

1.1.1   Conditions

The following conditions must apply:

To delete a custom rule:

  1. Navigate to the LocalAuthorizationMethod MO, for example:

    >dn ManagedElement=NODE06ST,SystemFunctions=1,SecM=1,UserManagement=1,LocalAuthorizationMethod=1

  2. View the current settings:

    (LocalAuthorizationMethod=1)>show -v

    The following is an example output:

    LocalAuthorizationMethod=1
    [...]
       CustomRule=Custom_FaultManagement_1
       CustomRule=Custom_PerformanceManagement_1
       CustomRule=Custom_SoftwareInventory_1
       CustomRule=Custom_SoftwareManagement_1
       CustomRule=Custom_SystemManagement_1
       CustomRule=Custom_Top_1
       CustomRule=Custom_Top_2
       CustomRule=Custom_Top_3
    [...]
  3. Enter Config mode:

    (LocalAuthorizationMethod=1)>configure

  4. Delete the CustomRule MO, for example:

    (config-LocalAuthorizationMethod=1)>no CustomRule=Custom_SoftwareInventory_1

  5. Commit the deletion:

    (config-LocalAuthorizationMethod=1)>commit

  6. Verify the deletion by checking the CustomRule instances:

    (LocalAuthorizationMethod=1)>show -v

    The following is an example output:

    LocalAuthorizationMethod=1
    [...]
       CustomRule=Custom_FaultManagement_1
       CustomRule=Custom_PerformanceManagement_1
       CustomRule=Custom_SoftwareManagement_1
       CustomRule=Custom_SystemManagement_1
       CustomRule=Custom_Top_1
       CustomRule=Custom_Top_2
       CustomRule=Custom_Top_3
    [...]
  7. The custom rule has been deleted from the managed element.
