1   Introduction

This document describes how to achieve the Toll Restriction feature in the MTAS.

1.1   Prerequisites

It is assumed that the user of this document is familiar with the O&M area, in general.

1.1.1   Licenses

To enable basic services in the MTAS, the MMTel license must be installed.

For more information about licensing, refer to MTAS Licenses.

1.1.2   Documents

Before starting any procedure in this document, ensure that the following documents are available:

1.1.3   Conditions

The following condition must apply:

An Ericsson Command-Line Interface (ECLI) session in Exec mode is in progress.

2   Overview

The Toll Restriction feature allows the operator to stop selected end users making calls to national numbers and / or international numbers, to play special announcements when such an end user attempts to make a disallowed call, and to record the reason for rejection in the charging information for the rejected call.

The Toll Restriction feature is achieved by appropriate configuration of attributes in MtasOcb and MtasGaAnn. Toll Restriction is a specialized form of Operator Barring Program or user Barring Program, or both. For more details, refer to MTAS Barring and Dial Plan Services Management Guide.

2.1   Subfunction

There are no subfunctions included in the Toll Restriction feature.

2.2   Interaction with Other Services

As the Toll Restriction feature is a specialized form of Operator Barring Program or user Barring Program or both, the interactions are the same as the Outgoing Communication Barring interactions. For detailed information, refer to MTAS Barring and Dial Plan Services Management Guide.

3   Toll Restriction Configuration

This section describes the Toll Restriction configuration.

3.1   National Toll Restriction Configuration

To achieve national Toll Restriction, set the following attributes (the values in italic font are examples).

Create an instance of MtasGaAnn called "NationalToll" with attributes, as follows:

mtasGaAnnPlayAudioAnnouncement ["NationalToll"]

1

mtasGaAnnPlayVideoAnnouncement ["NationalToll"]

1

mtasGaAnnAudioCode ["NationalToll"]

1500

mtasGaAnnVideoCode ["NationalToll"]

1501

mtasGaAnnAVAudioCode ["NationalToll"]

1502

mtasGaAnnAVVideoCode ["NationalToll"]

1503

mtasGaAnnCauseValue ["NationalToll"]

21

For more details about Generic Announcements, refer to MTAS Generic Announcement Management Guide.

mtasOcbLocalnessBCatAnnouncementControl ["L_National"]

1

mtasOcbLocalnessBCatAnnouncementName ["L_National"]

"NationalToll"

mtasOcbLocalnessBCatSSId ["L_National"]

140

For more details about Generic Announcements, refer to MTAS Barring and Dial Plan Services Management Guide.

To impose national Toll Restriction on a user, include L_National in a category-name element within the operator-barring-program element in the transparent data file of the user.

3.2   International Toll Restriction Configuration

To achieve International Toll Restriction, set the following attributes (the values in italic font are examples).

Create an instance of MtasGaAnn called "InternationalToll" with attributes:

mtasGaAnnPlayAudioAnnouncement ["InternationalToll"]

1

mtasGaAnnPlayVideoAnnouncement ["InternationalToll"]

1

mtasGaAnnAudioCode ["InternationalToll"]

1504

mtasGaAnnVideoCode ["InternationalToll"]

1505

mtasGaAnnAVAudioCode ["InternationalToll"]

1506

mtasGaAnnAVVideoCode ["InternationalToll"]

1507

mtasGaAnnCauseValue ["InternationalToll"]

21

For more details about Generic Announcements, refer to MTAS Generic Announcement Management Guide.

mtasOcbLocalnessBCatAnnouncementControl ["L_International"]

1

mtasOcbLocalnessBCatAnnouncementName ["L_International"]

"InternationalToll"

mtasOcbLocalnessBCatSSId ["L_International"]

141

For more details about Barring Categories, refer to MTAS Barring and Dial Plan Services Management Guide.

To impose international Toll Restriction on a user, include L_International in a category-name element within the operator-barring-program element in the transparent data file of the user.

4   Performance Management

There are no measurements associated with this service.

5   Fault Management

There are no alarms associated with Toll Restriction.
